Get Thicker Texturized Hair
If you’re in tune with me on YouTube, you know that I texturized my natural hair. I won’t get into the reasons why here, but know that it wasn’t an easy decision. I talk about it in my latest videos “4 C Texturized Hair Update”, "I Texturized my Natural Hair", and “I’m Tired of My Natural Hair”.
Okay, here’s the short of it. I’ve been doing Protein treatments and my hair has thrived because of it. If you’re into video format, you can view my full monthly Intense Protein Routine here:
I’m never shy about saying how damaging relaxers and texturizers can be on the hair. I wish I could say I am exempt. I am not. I texturized my hair with “Just for Me Texture Softener” on July 13th, 2015 and the texturizer took quickly in the 7 minutes I gave it to process. My hair turned out a lot straighter than I imagined and (not surprisingly) felt weaker. I’ve been doing protein treatments, deep conditioning, and staying away from styling with heat. Everything I have been doing since then has helped my hair tremendously!
Check out this 20 second clip of my hair immediately after the texturizer (left) and what it looks like today (right).
I’ve taken out the fluff and included photos and links to the products I’ve been using. Every single product I mention has been heaven-sent and are a major reason for the strength and texture coming back to me hair. Shout out to those of you who recommended the hair mask on Facebook, I love it! If you have used these products before, share your experience! If not, check them out. If you have hair similar to mine or just need to do some damage control, you won’t be disappointed. Pinky promise.
Heads up! Don’t use too much protein. Too much can make your hair brittle and break off. Trust me, it works, you don’t have to over do it . Once a month is enough, but twice a month maximum.
Here are those 3 videos I talked about a the top of this post. Enjoy and have a beautiful day!
