Another month has rolled by and I’ve fallen in love with new products all over again. I guess I can’t help myself. I’m kind of a product junkie...that will never go to rehab.
The first thing I’m loving is my new pair of Warby Parker optical lenses. Don't judge, but I haven’t worn a pair of glasses in about three years. Yes, I’ve abused my eyes with contacts for over eighteen hours a day and I’m finally giving my eyes a break. The fact that I can still see and my prescription hasn’t changed is a miracle. In one of my previous video posts, Fashion Haul & Try On, I made a visit to Nordstrom and checked out the pop-up shop featuring Warby Parker and fell in love with the Durand frames. I uploaded a prescription from my eye doctor and had the glasses shipped to my house. They look great on and were only $95! For the quality, I’d say they were a great buy. Plus, there’s the added bonus of knowing that a pair of glasses were donated to someone in need because of my order. Always nice to have the fuzzy feel-good feeling :-)
PS: My lipstick in the top photo is Bite Beauty's Cashmere Lipcream in "Port".
Thanks to you lovely ladies (and gentleman) on facebook, I was able to make my final purchasing decision on a new pair of black faux leather booties by Audrey Brooke from Designer Shoe Warehouse. These are my first pair of boots by the brand and from my understanding, the brand may be owned by DSW. Initially, I wanted a shorter heel, but I put some gel pads inside, and my feet held up just fine. Thank God! If you’re interested in these exact booties, the box reads "Black AB Perry" and the photo above should lead to a site to purchase. Hope that helps!
I have two favorite moments of the month. One was getting invited to Raven Simone’s going away party two weekends ago. I don’t have any pictures, but if you were following me on snapchat, you may have caught us all getting down on the dance floor. I Still wish I could have gotten a photo to keep, but I CAN share my secret stash of snapchats (above) from that evening (not public on youtube). You can see Raven dancing at 1:40. It was real in there LOL!
The second moment was seeing my mother in the airport for the first time in six years. She leaves today after a week-long visit from NewYork :-( I'm a little sad that she has to leave, but I have PLENTY of video footage (and snaps) to share in the coming weeks. Above is a sneak preview from a teaser video we did last week.
For hair, I’ve been in love with my Gold N Hot jet bonnet dryer attachment and Vitagood’s scalp massager. I live in California and it is DRY! As a result, so is my hair and scalp. I’ve found that my hair loves Apple Cider Vinegar rinses, a good ol’ scalp massage with the Vitagood’s brush (it vibrates too!) and after my regular shampoo and condition, a 20 minute deep condition with the jet bonnet. Warning, when you attach your hair dryer to the bonnet, keep it on a medium/warm heat setting or you may overheat and the bonnet will fly off your head. As for the scalp massager, it’s great because it loosens all of my scalp build up, feels amazing, and prevents me from using my fingernails when I wash. If you have any scalp conditions, I recommend using it right after an apple cider vinegar rinse to get rid of stubborn gunk on the scalp left behind. Use my code "LaToyaLoves" during checkout on the Vitagood's site to get 50% off.
My beloved fragrance of the month is Nirvana Black by Elizabeth and James. Just so you know, I didn’t want to share this fragrance. That’s how much I love it and want to keep it to myself. Ah well, sharing is caring, right? It has notes of violet, sandlewood, and vanilla. It leaves this mature, sexy, dark, alluring scent and I just can’t get enough. At times, I’ll layer something lighter on top to give it more dimension and soften it up, but it’s perfect just the way it is for a night out.
And that concludes my loves for the month. If you have any favorites, please share. I know I don’t really need the temptation, but as I stated earlier, I love a good product…no rehab for me. Feel free to enable me all you want.
